Is an LLC Operating Agreement Required in Massachusetts?

Registered Agent

You must have a registered agent who can accept your LLC’s official and legal documents. In case someone sues your company, the registered agent will receive the legal papers on your behalf for the lawsuit. In Massachusetts, a registered agent can be one of the following:

  • On-site and available in Massachusetts who can accept documents during the business hours
  • One with an address in Massachusetts
  • A business registered in Massachusetts

Step 1 – Name Your LLC

Now that you have an EIN, you should open a bank account for your LLC. This makes it easier to sort out finances while filing taxes and prove that your business is separate from you.

Step 7 – File Annual Reports and Taxes
