A Maryland motor vehicle power of attorney (form VR-470) enables vehicle owners to appoint a representative to perform tasks related to their motor vehicle on their behalf with the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration.
Once completed and signed by the owner(s), the form conveys the necessary powers to the attorney-in-fact to act as the principal in signing paperwork for registering or transferring the vehicle.
The form identifies the vehicle by make, body type, year, and VIN, and requires the full name and mailing address of both the owner(s) and the attorney-in-fact.
