Required Notice Periods:
- Year-to-Year Tenancies: 60 days.
- Quarter-to-Quarter and Month-to-Month Tenancies – 30 days.
- Week-to-Week – 7 days.
- Unpaid Rent: 5 days.
Early Termination by Tenants: Illinois tenants may terminate a lease early if certain conditions are met, such as active military duty, uninhabitable living conditions, domestic or sexual violence, or if the lease includes an early termination clause.

60-Day Notice
Used for yearly tenancies.
30-Day Notice
Used for monthly or less than 1 year tenancies.
7-Day Notice
Used for week-to-week tenancies.
