A New Mexico medical power of attorney allows an individual to name an agent to make health-related decisions for them if they become too sick or disabled. It’s also called a durable power of attorney for health care. Furthermore, the New Mexico statutes provide an optional advance health care directive form.

- Statute: Uniform Health Care Decisions Act (§ 24-7A).
- Signing Requirements: No statutory requirements (§ 24-7A-4). Signatures of one or two witnesses are recommended.
- Revocation: You can revoke it at any time. If you revoke it, you should promptly notify your doctor and the institution where you receive care. You should also inform your agent (§ 24-7A-4).
