An Illinois minor (child) power of attorney is a legal document that allows parents to temporarily transfer their parental rights to a trusted representative to ensure proper care of their child. This includes decisions regarding transportation, shelter, clothing, and food.
This type of power of attorney has no duration limitations, but an expiration date or event can be specified. The parent(s) may grant the representative all parental authority or set limitations. This document will render all prior minor power of attorney forms invalid.
