A Louisiana real estate power of attorney, or what is often referred to as a mandate in the state, is a legal document that authorizes an agent to handle real estate transactions on behalf of the principal. This document grants the agent the power to buy, sell, manage, or refinance a property, as specified by the principal. The agent’s powers and the terms of authorization must be defined in the mandate document.
