A Maryland real estate power of attorney is a legal document that allows a person (the principal) to appoint someone else (the agent) to manage their real estate affairs. As the principal completes the form, they can specify the agent’s duties, which include buying, selling, managing, and refinancing property.
The document requires notarization and can be revoked at any time. The principal can also choose to have the power of attorney terminated upon their death or incapacitation. This form can be made durable or non-durable, depending on whether the agent’s authority will continue in the event of the principal’s incapacitation.
