A Louisiana tax power of attorney form, or Form R-7006, is a legal document that allows taxpayers to appoint a representative to handle their tax matters before the Louisiana Department of Revenue.
The form authorizes the representative to communicate, sign, and file taxes on the taxpayer’s behalf. The taxpayer can indicate which tax types and periods require representation. Corporate officers, partners, or fiduciaries can also use the form to assign tax representation for an entity.
The representative’s authority is exclusive to the Louisiana Department of Revenue and cannot be used before the IRS. The form can authorize a representative to sign returns, file protests, execute offers in compromise, and represent the taxpayer in any proceedings.
