A South Carolina motor vehicle power of attorney (Form MC-25) is a legal document granting specific rights to an appointed individual so they can handle vehicle-related matters on the owner’s behalf. Depending on the powers the principal allocates, the agent may be able to transfer a vehicle, register it, or make title adjustments.
A notary public may witness the owner’s signature to make the document more legitimate, but it’s not necessary in South Carolina. Upon completing this paperwork, the declarant can guarantee that a trusted individual can handle their vehicle-related tasks without their direct involvement.
