An affiant is someone who makes an affidavit and swears to its validity. The term “affiant” is often used in the courtroom, where an affiant must file an affidavit in certain legal cases requiring evidence submission.

- As a signatory of someone else’s behalf for an affidavit as a Power of Attorney ( POA ) affiant.
