A medical power of attorney in Washington D.C. is a legal document that lets you choose someone to make healthcare decisions for you if you’re unable to do so yourself. The person you select is called your “agent” or “attorney-in-fact.” This document is sometimes also referred to as a power of attorney for health care. It ensures that your medical care aligns with your preferences and beliefs when you can’t express them.
